I must admit, I haven't recovered from this "New Year's Resolution" trend year after year, which I have been doing since childhood. Isn't it great to start your New Year with some things to do differently? Stuffs you want to stop and to start from thereon? The question is, how long can we keep this up? A month or two? Two quarters, I guess? Well, it's always up to who made it.

Honestly, I failed to do the lists I made for some reasons. Countless times! I get all agitated at first and later on lose the tenacity to continue what was once started. When I began attending the Victory Church in Pasig, my perception about this New Year idea transformed into something optimistic. Instead of using the word 'resolution" which means a process of resolving conflict, we practiced using the word "Faith Goals". Why? You don't just resolve some conflicts, you want to do something differently after the solution so it won't happen again, correct? Why GOAL? I preferred to use its definition - successful shot. This evidently describes that you don't make the shot to fail. You aim the shot to win! Why not? Everyone wants to win. Who wants to fail? And Faith?

Definitely you can't do it if you don't believe you can. Mind over matter, they say. If you set your mind that you will fail, you will surely fail. But if you set in your mind that you will become what you want to become, you, unquestionably, will!Shortly, I realized that there are some Factors that these list of New Year's Resolution becomes some sort of disappointments. At least to me.

1. FAITH.

I lose the trust to believe that it will happen. That change can happen. Reality bites. I learned that BELIEVING INFLUENCES OUR DESIRES. The aspiration for something doesn't have to just sit there. Our heart plays a part - to believe and have faith that it could happen.

2. PATIENCE.

Waiting is the most strenuous thing to do. I am a person who wanted to have things on my hand according to what I plan. I am also very precise on time. I hate it when time set is not chartered. Who would want to wait for minutes after minutes? Seems like waiting is a fragment of maturity not only as a person but as a Christian. I am still in process of growth is many areas and several times have I stagger. I don't get the answer right away, that's a fact. There will be some molding and disciplining.

3. PRAY.

It doesn't end at one & two. I have something to do. Faith doesn't grow without praying. Getting on my knees and asking God his grace to do the list of things you wanna do will benefit you.

4. WORK.

I am not like "Juan Tamad" who waits for the fruit to fall so I can eat. I have to exercise all three (Faith, Patience, Pray) while I do my work. If I want to learn photography, I can't just sit around. While I wait for the DSLR I am saving up for, I have to read, practice and learn from the Pros. So when I get my camera, I'm adept to what I wanna do and learn more.

These are just part of my Faith Goals for this year 2012. I am believing GOD for these in Faith.
