I was a bit diffident putting up another blog for my photography works. Why? The response might be worse than expected and I may not be adept to take it encouragingly. Or I may not get a retort at all! Too bad I always get ahead of myself so…I still have to make up my mind! Well, this is it. I finally got the courage to do it and I know it’s one of the best valor I’ll ever take.
Just a fleeting background though, how I get this far as a hobbyist of this photography craze is a history.
My father loves taking pictures of him while he was away for a job in the Middle East. I haven’t inquired him if the reason of doing so is “passion” (why I haven’t ask that ‘til now? Let me have that noted so I can ask him the next time I visit our hometown) or just so because he doesn’t want us (his daughters) missed his father figure on us. Since childhood, never did we miss a month (or weeks) of delivery of his mails with pictures (plus the voice tapes recorded – yes, during 70’s that’s the best alternative for you to get to hear a loved one’s voice, and a letter for each of us) and I am blessed to have such a father who thought of that idea to still be associated with us though he’s miles away. And our mother by no means let the month pass without our (and her) voice footage, help us compose letters and take pictures for our father abroad.
As I grew up I get used to looking at the pictures on my leisure time not to mention the letters which I still love doing! Little did I know that somehow the passion on photography will birth. And the passion to be a model is also one of the reasons I get to love photography! Since I was not granted a required height for a model, I kept myself busy instead taking pictures of me imagining I am model. Thank you so much for the camera timer! Really. I will be posting some of the “Timer Shots” I got. You judge. (that scares me now!)
I was the first in the family (apart from my father) to purchase a camera. Back then, camera with film is something you desperately wanna have. Now even the cellphones has built-in cameras. I can’t really remember when exactly I did but I got 2 cameras then, I lost the first one (which I don’t know how it happened since I am very watchful with my things. I know I lent it to someone and boom! It’s out of my hand! ) and the other one wasn’t restored to me when it was borrowed. I just can’t figure out why for some people are like that – once stuff is borrowed, they own it and never give back? I’m not bitter, I’m just wondering.
Going back… I got my first DIGITAL camera on October 2006 – Olympus. I still have it until now! Kudos to me! My friends told me “ you have maximized the use of your camera!” when I finally got my first Nikon DSLR on May 2012 which I named after my nickname – “LUKE”. Canon is my first choice, however, I decided to get this one first as it’s more beneficial in a sense that other brand name for lenses can be used as long as it’s attuned to the body. But I still plan to get a Canon since it’s my dream brand of a camera.
I will be posting blogs here about photos taken from all cameras I used (my own and some of my friends’). Your comments and suggestions are deeply appreciated as this will be of assistance to enhance this talent given.
May you all enjoy viewing this photography blog!
